Drivers

A driver belongs to a product and represents a person who signs in to ioki Vehicle App. Drivers sign in with a username and a six-digit password.

For managing drivers in the UI, see Drivers in ioki Operator or Drivers in Control Center.

Locking

If there are too many failed sign-in attempts in ioki Vehicle App, a driver is locked automatically. A locked driver has no access through ioki Vehicle App and must be unlocked again before they can sign in.

Archiving

Archiving a driver anonymizes them rather than deleting them: the driver is disconnected from active vehicle connections, their phone number, username, and associated mobile device are deleted, and their name is anonymized. Other database entries that reference the driver are preserved.

Phone number precedence

A vehicle has a phone number connected to its tablet, and a driver can optionally have their own. When a passenger calls the driver, the driver’s number takes precedence over the vehicle number. A driver’s phone number isn’t limited to one driver—the same number can be used across different providers and products at the same time.

Display name

How a driver’s name is displayed is governed by the display name strategies, a provider tenant setting.
