Vehicles

A vehicle belongs to a product and represents anything that can transport users for a service, such as a car, bus, rickshaw, or carriage.

For managing vehicles in the UI, see Vehicles in ioki Operator or Vehicles in Control Center.

Capacity and interior configurations

A vehicle’s capacity is defined by its interior configurations—seats, wheelchair bays, walker bays, and storage units. Matching checks a ride’s requested seats and resources against these configurations when it evaluates task lists, unless the vehicle is configured to ignore those checks.

Driving range

ioki Platform can track a driving-range budget for a vehicle, calculated by a driving-range adapter in a chosen unit (meters, seconds, battery percent, or watt hours). The budget is carried through task chains but isn’t currently used to accept or reject matches.

Autonomous vehicles

A vehicle can be marked as autonomous. An autonomous vehicle requires an end place on its vehicle plannings, and its positions are typically not tracked through ioki Vehicle App position updates.

Connection to drivers

A vehicle is connected to a driver through a vehicle occupation. Its location can be tracked through vehicle position updates, and vehicle telemetry provides additional operational data.
