Stripe
Stripe is a payment service provider (PSP) for online payment services. It is used to handle digital payments between passengers and the provider.
ioki Platform wires up two Stripe payment methods: card payments (card) and SEPA direct debit (sepa_debit). Card payments also cover the Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets, since those are recorded as card payment methods carrying a wallet type rather than as separate methods. Which of these a provider accepts is configured per provider. Stripe itself supports many more payment methods, but only these two are integrated into ioki Platform.
In Control Center, use Manage Stripe account in the provider area to review the connected account, accepted Stripe payment methods, and whether Google Pay is supported for the provider.
If Stripe is selected as a PSP, a corresponding account must be set up or connected. Either an existing provider Standard Account can be used or an Express Account can be created.
If the Express Account is selected, Stripe uses the fees that ioki has negotiated, that is
- 1,4% + 0,05€ per transaction (European Visa/Mastercard)
- 2,9% + 0,15€ per transaction (non-European Visa/Mastercard)
- 2,9% + 0,25€ per transaction (all American Express Cards)
(according to the PO, at Nov 12, 2020). Further, an overview of the payments is included in Control Center. For the Standard Account, the provider has to negotiate their own terms with Stripe.
The following screen is shown to a Provider Admin or Financial Manager when Stripe is activated but no account has been set up.
If no Stripe account has been set up yet, Control Center offers a Create Stripe Account action from the provider view.
Note that this is shown only if Stripe is activated as the PSP and no Stripe account has been set up yet. The link opens a dialog directly in Stripe. After the account has been created or connected, ongoing provider-specific Stripe settings are managed in Manage Stripe account in the provider area.
The account must be activated by an executive, senior manager, or someone who otherwise has significant responsibility for the control and management of the provider. They must identify themselves with a color copy of the ID card, driver’s license, or an extract from the commercial register.
The following basic information is needed:

That does not mean, that the account has to be set up by that person.
