Public transport adapters

Public transport adapters are used for the product features public transport connections, public transport alternatives, and intermodal journeys. They request information about public transport connections from different providers. The following adapters are currently available:

  • Google Routes Trip. Queries the Google Routes API and provides journeys, connections and alternatives based on the results. You may select this option only if credentials have been added to the provider associated with the product. For more details, refer to the page Google Routes credentials.
  • HAFAS Trip. Queries the HAFAS API and provides up to five journeys, connections and alternatives for the DACH region.
  • MENTZ Trip. Queries the MENTZ API and provides up to ten journeys, connections and alternatives. It is often used by public transport providers in the south of Germany. For services in Bavaria, consider this adapter when the public transport data is provided through DEFAS. You may select this option only if credentials have been added to the provider associated with the product. For more details, refer to the page Mentz credentials.
  • NAVITIA Trip. Queries the Navitia API and provides international journeys, connections and alternatives. You may select this option only if credentials have been added to the provider associated with the product. For more details, refer to the page Navitia credentials. Note that Navitia doesn’t provide departure boards.
  • VAO Trip. Queries the VAO API and provides journeys, connections and alternatives for Austria. You may select this option only if credentials have been added to the provider associated with the product. For more details, refer to the page VAO credentials.

If public transport information is not required, you can select the adapter None, which does not query any API and therefore doesn’t provide any information.

Before selecting Google Routes Trip, MENTZ Trip, NAVITIA Trip, or VAO Trip as an adapter, verify that the provider associated with the product has the required credentials properly configured. Without them, users will not receive ride offers.
