Eligibility groups

Eligibility groups are provider-level groups of users used to control which users qualify for downstream workflows that check group membership. This feature is provider-bound: an eligibility group belongs to a provider, not to an individual product, so a group can include users across all of the provider’s products.

Eligibility groups are different from user segments. User segments describe how users are registered and which default communication settings they receive. Eligibility groups describe whether users qualify for a specific group-based workflow.

Eligibility groups do not change booking or matching behavior on their own. A downstream workflow must explicitly check group membership. One verified use case is the planning model overrides adapter product setting, which can adjust the planning data before matching evaluates candidate solutions depending on whether the ride’s user belongs to a given group.

Activate this feature

Roles: Super Admin

To use eligibility groups, activate the provider feature in the management settings of the provider: within the Provider features section, select the checkbox Supports eligibility groups and save.

Manage eligibility groups

Permissions: manage_eligibility_groups (groups), manage_eligibility_group_memberships (memberships)

Creating, editing, and deleting eligibility groups requires the manage_eligibility_groups permission, granted to the Provider Admin role. Managing group memberships requires the manage_eligibility_group_memberships permission, granted to the Provider Admin role and, at product scope, to the Product Admin role.

Once the feature is active, the admin procedure for creating groups, configuring invite strategies, and managing memberships is documented in Eligibility groups in Control Center.
