Firebase
The Firebase Realtime Database is used to push real-time updates from the backend to the client apps. Each mobile app must set up a connection to Firebase and listen to updates in the Firebase database relevant to its client type, either driver or passenger.
For ioki Vehicle App, information is stored for each vehicle individually. A connected vehicle can access all relevant updates based on the vehicle occupation.
The following events trigger a push to the Firebase database for ioki Vehicle App:
- The current journey of the vehicle changes
- A pending task for the vehicle is updated
- A task for a vehicle is canceled
- The vehicle data changes
- The configuration of the corresponding product changes,
- The driver receives a tip
- A driver push notification is sent
For ioki Passenger App, the trigger events are:
- Notifications and mass push notifications
- Updated or deleted rides
- Changed vehicle positions
