Tasks

A task is always connected to a vehicle planning. Every task can be accepted, rejected, completed, or cancelled. This can be done by the driver via ioki Vehicle App or by an operator in Control Center. In addition, ioki Vehicle App can accept tasks automatically for the driver. Until then, the task is pending.

Every task has exactly one calculated point, and every calculated point is associated with exactly one task. Therefore, every task has a time. If the task belongs to a ride, this is also indicated.

The following tasks are introduced by the vehicle planning:

  • Shift Beginning is created when the vehicle planning is created. It always needs a place.
  • Shift End is also created with the vehicle planning. Its place is optional.
  • Pause Beginning has an optional place and induces a Pause End. See Pauses.
  • Repositioning is used to reposition a vehicle during an active vehicle planning. See Vehicle repositioning for more details.

The following tasks are induced by a ride:

  • Pickup and
  • Dropoff. Both have a time and need a place.

Tasks can be marked as dismissable. Dismissable tasks are removed automatically from the task list if a new passenger is matched into the task list or if the task list is delayed. Currently, only repositioning tasks can be marked as dismissable, although the concept would also work for other task types.
