One-time codes for driver login

The product feature one-time codes for driver login lets a driver sign in to ioki Vehicle App with a single-use one-time code instead of their password.

Behavior

An administrator (operator) with permission to generate one-time codes for drivers generates a code from the driver’s detailed view. The driver then enters this code on the sign-in screen—see Get started.

A one-time code:

  • is valid for 20 minutes after it is generated,
  • can be used only once, and
  • is not case-sensitive.

If the code has expired or has already been used, sign-in fails and a new code must be generated.

Deliver the code by SMS

With the companion feature sending one-time codes for drivers via SMS, the generated code can be sent to the driver by SMS. Without it, the code is shown when it is generated and must be shared with the driver by other means.

Use cases of this feature

One-time codes are useful when a driver cannot use their regular credentials—for example, a driver signing in for the first time or one who has forgotten their password—so an operator can grant temporary access without setting a new password.

Activate this feature

Roles: Super Admin

  1. Navigate to the management settings of the product.
  2. Within the Product features section, select the checkbox One-time codes for driver login. To also allow SMS delivery, select Sending one-time codes for drivers via SMS.
  3. Select Save.
