Pricing

The calculation of fares and fees of a product is an important and highly individual topic with many provider-specific adjustments. Pricing does not need to be enabled manually; it is always active, even if payment is not activated.

The calculation of fares and fees is implemented in ioki Platform through fare calculation adapters.

There are three different types of fares and fees:

  1. The booking price of a ride, which is calculated at the end of matching. It is calculated based on the selected booking price adapter. Personal discounts are then applied, and the booking price is presented to the passenger before the ride is booked. The final price adapter is applied after drop-off.

  2. The fee for no-shows, which is calculated by the No Show Fee Adapter.

  3. The fee for other cancellation reasons, which is calculated by the Cancellation Fee Adapter.

Currently, every product uses the same Final Price Adapter, which copies the booking price to the final price without any alterations.

Configure pricing

In the Fare calculation adapters section in the management settings of a product, you can choose the fare calculation adapters that should be applied.

Tariff codes

A tariff code is a label assigned to a station. When a fare calculation adapter prices a ride, it can read the tariff codes of the ride’s pickup and dropoff stations as input and use them to determine the fare. A station can hold more than one tariff code.

Some fare calculation adapters require every station to have at least one tariff code. If a station involved in a priced ride has none, the fare can’t be calculated, and a product validation reports the stations that are missing a tariff code.

You assign tariff codes to a station in its settings. See Stations.

Fare

As a fare belongs to a ride, information on the fares can be found in Control Center in the detailed view of the corresponding ride.
