Operator booking
For what this feature does, see Operator booking in Platform.
If this feature is activated, the option Create ride appears in the upper toolbar of the product overview. Selecting it opens the booking wizard. The wizard settings can be configured in the Booking Wizard section of the tenant settings of a product.
Book a ride
To use the Booking Wizard UI, you need these permissions:
create_ridesread_ridescancel_ridescreate_bookingsread_userscreate_users
From the product overview in Control Center, select Create ride in the upper toolbar. In this view, enter the following information.
The form is prefilled with the settings set within the section Booking Wizard in the tenant settings of a product.
Booking passenger
Select the user for whom the ride is being booked. Once a user is selected, their payment status is automatically checked. Any outstanding payments are displayed immediately. This allows administrators to identify users with open bills before initiating a new booking.
Ride is prebooked
This option is available if prebooking is activated. When the box is checked, a prebooking time in the future can be set for the ride.
Departure- or arrival-based booking
If arrival-based booking is activated for a product, this setting allows switching between departure-based and arrival-based matching. The selected time is then used for the departure or the arrival time of the ride, respectively.
Fixed station
If requires fixed stations for pickup/dropoff is enabled and at least one station is fixed, you can choose whether either the start or the destination should be fixed. If you select Start, then the UI of the booking wizard changes so that you must select a station for the start. If you select Destination, then the UI changes so that you must select a station for the destination.
Start and destination
For both the start and destination, you can enter either an address or a specific station. You can also choose whether the ride request should be calculated using the exact station or allow the system to search for nearby stations. By default, the system searches for nearby stations. This is useful when multiple stations are located close together within your service area.
If the option exact is selected, the matching algorithm considers only the selected station. If nearby, it considers other stations. The number of nearby stations to be considered can be changed; see the page matching configurations for more information.
Passengers
For each passenger, the passenger type can be selected from a dropdown menu and passenger options can be selected if defined in the product. At the bottom, ride options — if defined — can also be selected, for example, required additional storage space.
Payment method
If payment is activated, the corresponding payment method has to be chosen.
Map
A map displays the requested start and destination points when entered. The map is non-interactive, so start and destination points must be selected via the form.
Find and book a ride
Select Find ride. The system then runs the matching algorithm to find the best suitable vehicle planning to serve the ride request.
If a vehicle planning is found to serve the ride request, a remaining time countdown is displayed, which corresponds to the duration specified in the setting waiting for passenger acceptance until the system cancels.
Ride details are presented, including the time windows for pickup and dropoff, their locations, ride duration, driver, vehicle, and price.
If the deviation between the requested and offered time exceeds 10 minutes, orange text is displayed below Pickup for departure-based requests, or below Dropoff for arrival-based requests. This orange text serves as a warning to the operator.
You can then select Book ride to complete the booking process or Cancel ride to cancel it.
