Ride options

For what ride options are, see Ride options in Platform. Passengers choose these when they book a ride.

Standard roles have read-only access to ride options. Creating, editing, and deleting them is restricted to a Super Admin by default.

Permissions: read_ride_options

From the product overview in Control Center, select Ride options in the left sidebar.

Create a ride option

Permissions: create_ride_options (a Super Admin)

To create a ride option, select Create new and enter the following information.

Attributes

  • Name. Enter the name of the ride option.
  • Slug. Enter the slug of the ride option. In general, slugs serve as unique identifiers that are used to reliably identify resources. Slugs may only contain lowercase letters (aโ€“z), numbers (0โ€“9), underscores (_), and hyphens (-). Spaces, uppercase letters, and special characters are not allowed.
  • Data type. Select boolean, integer, or string from the dropdown menu. This sets the data type of the value of this ride option.
  • boolean is used for a true/false or yes/no check, for example, the typical passenger option wheelchair.
  • integer is used if a count is important, for example, the typical ride option large baggage.
  • string is used for a text input, for example, if a user must enter what they have with them or the name of a public transport ticket.
  • Bookable. Select yes or no from the dropdown menu. This determines whether the ride option may be used to book a ride.
  • Type (icon). Select book_for_others, default, default_alt, or storage from the dropdown menu. This field determines which icon should be rendered for the ride option.
  • Sort key. Enter a sort key. This field is used to order the ride options in Control Center and in ioki Passenger App.
  • Reporting column. Select a reporting column from the dropdown, or select - to leave the option out of ride option report columns. The column names can be customized in the provider-level custom report column name settings for ride options. For each product, assign no more than one bookable ride option to the same reporting column.
  • Visible in Driver Client. Select this checkbox to show the ride option to the driver in ioki Vehicle App. When it is cleared, the option is hidden from the driver even if a passenger selected it for the ride. This is enabled by default.

Resource consumption

Specify the resources that are required by the ride option.

The matching algorithm uses these valuesโ€”for example, seats, wheelchair bays, walker bays, and storage unitsโ€”to check if there is a vehicle available that is able to serve this demand.
