Operators

Permission: No additional permission is required to view operators assigned to you. To create, edit, set the default operator, archive an operator, or manage operator event targets, you need manage_operators for the provider.

An operator belongs to a provider and is an organization that owns and runs a fleet of vehicles for a service. Vehicles, drivers, and vehicle plannings are each assigned to an operator, and administrators can be granted access scoped to a specific operator.

A provider and operator can be the same entity if the provider oversees the full scope of DRT service management and operations. If the provider subcontracts vehicle operations to an operator, the operator is distinct from the provider.

In Control Center, select Operators in the left sidebar.

The list shows the operators assigned to you.

Select an operator name to open its details page.

Open the operator action menu to access these actions:

Create an operator

Select Create new and enter the following information.

  • Provider. Select the provider that the operator belongs to.
  • Name. Enter the operator name.
  • Slug. Enter the slug for the operator. Control Center converts the value to lowercase and replaces spaces with underscores before saving it. The saved slug can only contain lowercase letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), underscores (_), and hyphens (-).

Select Save.

If the provider does not already have an operator, the new operator becomes the default operator automatically.

New operators start with a matching rank of 1.

If you do not have access to any providers, Control Center shows a warning and you cannot create an operator.

Edit an operator

Open the operator action menu and select Edit.

You can update these fields:

  • Name
  • Slug
  • Locale
  • Address
  • VAT number
  • External ID
  • Matching rank. Enter a whole number from 1 to 99.

Select Save.

Set a default operator

Open the operator action menu and select Set default.

Control Center sets the selected operator as the default operator for its provider.

Archive an operator

Open the operator action menu and select Archive.

You cannot archive an operator if either of these conditions applies:

  • The operator is the current default operator for the provider.
  • The operator still has unarchived vehicles assigned to it.
