Permissions: update_product

In the Tipping section of the tenant settings of a product, you can allow users to tip drivers.

Enable tipping

To enable tipping, select the option Tipping and then select Save.

Configure tipping

The payment of a tip is handled separately from the payment for the ride. It’s possible to send tips even if there is no charge for the ride and regardless of the state of the ride.

Tipping is not handled in ioki Platform for the payment method Cash, and it is not possible to give a tip in service credits.

Because charges are handled through the relevant payment service providers, and it’s not possible to charge an arbitrarily small amount, a Minimum Tipping Amount is set. This varies by currency and is based on a list from Stripe.

A Maximum tipping amount can be set in the product settings to prevent accidental excessive tips.

You can also configure three Tipping Suggestions from which the user can choose in ioki Passenger App. A custom tip amount remains available.

A tip that was charged can be refunded like any other booking transaction.
