A pause is part of a vehicle planning. For what a pause is, how Preserve duration and Place behave, and how pauses behave during matching, see Pauses in Platform.
Pauses can be planned directly when creating the vehicle planning to prevent prebookings to the time span reserved for the pause. This can be done in Control Center as well as when using the CSV importer for vehicle plannings.
View pauses
For each vehicle planning, a gear (⚙️) icon is displayed on the right. Select this icon to open a dropdown menu and select Pauses to show planned pauses of the corresponding vehicle planning.
Create a pause
You can still add pauses after a vehicle planning is created. Select the gear (⚙️) icon next to the corresponding vehicle planning and select Create Pause to add a pause to the vehicle planning.
This is also possible in the detailed view of the vehicle planning. Here, the corresponding dropdown menu is found at the top of the page.
To create a pause, enter the following information.
- Starts. Enter start date and time.
- Ends. Enter end date and time.
- Preserve duration. Preserve duration is
trueby default. This means it’s always active for pauses created during vehicle-planning creation. - Place (optional): Select a place.
Select Save.
The pause starts when the driver accepts the task Pause Beginning. For how the pause shifts in time and its behavior against Shift End, see Pauses in Platform.
Preserve duration
The Preserve duration field enforces the created pause duration as a minimum. For how it behaves when the driver checks Pause Beginning early or late, see Preserve duration in Platform.
Place
If a place is assigned to the pause, the calculated time the driver needs to arrive there is considered. For how the pause location floats when no place is assigned, see Placement in Platform.
