Role-based access control

For what this feature does, see Role-based access control in Platform. This item appears in the Control Center provider sidebar only when the role-based access control provider feature is active.

Manage provider-specific roles

Permissions: administrate_access_control_management

If the feature is active and the current administrator has permission to manage access control for the provider, Roles appears in the left sidebar of the provider area in Control Center.

On the Roles page, you can:

  • view all roles that are scoped to the current provider
  • create, edit, and delete custom provider-specific roles
  • inspect whether Requires 2FA is enabled for each role
  • enable or disable Requires 2FA for provider roles

Predefined provider-specific roles cannot be edited or deleted. However, their Requires 2FA setting can still be enabled or disabled from the actions menu.

Create a custom provider-specific role

Permissions: administrate_access_control_management

To create a role, select Create new and enter the following information.

  • Name. Enter the name of the role.
  • Select one or more provider-specific permissions for the role.

Newly created roles have Requires 2FA disabled by default. Existing roles keep their current setting.
