Station announcements
Station announcements allow administrators (operators) to send station-related in-app banner messages to drivers in the ioki Vehicle App. Station announcements are simply a type of in-app banner that is linked to a specific station. They are delivered to drivers in the ioki Vehicle App for that station.
Passengers are not shown station announcements. To reach passengers, create a zone announcement instead: a zone announcement is returned as a ride inquiry assistance when the origin or destination of a search falls inside that zone.
The product feature in-app banners serves as a foundation for station announcements. Therefore, this must be activated.
Use cases of station announcements
Drivers can be informed about potential hazards, construction activities, or receive special instructions from the operators for a specific station.
View station announcements

From the product overview in Control Center, select Stations in the left sidebar. To view the announcements of a station, select ⚙️ > Show in the dropdown menu. Then select Station announcements. In this view, station announcements are listed in a table containing the following information.

Create a station announcement

To create a station announcement, select Create new and fill in the required information.
- Starts and Ends. Define the time period during which the station announcement should be visible.
- Title. Enter a brief, clear title for the station announcement.
- Severity. Select the level of importance:
Information,Warning, orDanger. This determines how the banner is visually styled in the app. - Additional information URL. Provide a link to an external page with more details. This URL will be shown within the station announcement.
- Zone/Station. Select either one zone or station. If you select a zone, the announcement is only shown to passengers: it is returned as a ride inquiry assistance when the origin or destination is inside that zone, and it cannot target drivers. If you select a station, the station announcement is delivered to drivers in the ioki Vehicle App for that station.
- Show on every app start. Select this flag if the announcement should occur on every app start within the given time period. Otherwise, it will not be shown again after it has been closed once.
- Target. Choose where the announcement should appear. Station announcements are delivered to drivers in the ioki Vehicle App.
- Text. Enter the message content to be displayed inside the station announcement.
Select Save.
A construction project is scheduled near a central bus station, which temporarily affects accessibility. To ensure safety and minimize confusion, the operator creates a station announcement for that station. The message has a Warning severity level and includes a clear title and description:
- Title: Construction at Main Street Station
- Text: Please use the temporary platform on the west side. Follow posted signs and exercise caution.
The announcement is set to display two days before the construction begins and remains active until the end of the project. During this time, the message is delivered to drivers for that station in the ioki Vehicle App. This helps them prepare and adjust accordingly.
