Reasons for cancellation

Roles: Super Admin

The Reasons for cancellation section is available as a top-level entry on the Control Center landing page.

This page lists all global ride cancellation reasons available across all products for users and drivers. It is also possible to create local cancellation reasons for individual products; see product cancellation reasons. However, globally defined reasons cannot be deactivated.

These cancellation reasons can be selected by the user or driver in the corresponding app when a ride is canceled. They are additional to the cancellation reason defined in ioki Platform. While the ioki Platform reason defines when the cancellation happened and who initiated it, the additional reason specifies why it happened.

Note that for users this is only possible if the product feature passenger cancellation statement is active.

For Super Admins, it is possible to create new global cancellation reasons. To create a cancellation reason, enter the following information:

  • Usable by. Whether the reason can be selected by a driver or a user.
  • Internal Identifier. The name used for this reason in ioki Platform.
  • Title. A concise title that explains why the ride was canceled. Provide this at least in the product’s main language and in English, as this is what is displayed to the user.
  • Notification to the passenger. Required only for reasons that can be used by drivers. When a driver selects this reason to cancel a user’s ride, the user receives a push notification with this text. Provide this at least in the product’s main language and in English.

Current global cancellation reasons usable by driver

  • Passenger did not show up
  • Passenger did not have cash
  • Passenger violated ToS
  • Vehicle malfunction
  • Other reason

Current global cancellation reasons usable by user

There are no global cancellation reasons for users. User-facing cancellation reasons must be set up for each product individually.
