Universal links / app links

Universal links (on iOS) and app links (on Android) let a web URL open directly in a mobile app instead of the browser. ioki Platform serves the required association files—apple-app-site-association for iOS and assetlinks.json for Android—so that supported links open in the relevant app.

Each universal link is scoped to a provider and maps a subdomain to the iOS and Android client apps that should open its links.

Permissions: manage_universal_links

Select New, choose the provider, and enter the following:

  • Subdomain. Forms the full domain <subdomain>.link.ioki.app. It must be unique and can contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
  • Web Booking URL (optional): The ioki Web Booking URL to fall back to. It must be an HTTPS URL.
  • Android app. The Android client app that opens the link.
  • iOS app. The iOS client app that opens the link.

Both apps are required and must each match their platform (an Android client for the Android app, an iOS client for the iOS app). Select Save.

The provider is set when the universal link is created and can’t be changed afterward.

For the link targets and parameters these subdomains support—such as launching the app, creating a ride, or opening promo codes—see Deep links.
