Book a ride

Booking a ride on the web follows the same idea as in the passenger app: choose when and where you travel, set who is coming, then pick and confirm an offer.

A link can open Web Booking with the origin, destination, and time already filled in. See Deep links.

Choose when to travel

How you set the time depends on what your provider allows:

  • If the provider offers on-demand rides, you ask for the next available ride, and the offer shows the calculated pickup time.
  • If the provider offers pre-booking, you pick a future time. Where the provider enables it, you also choose whether that time is the departure time or the arrival time.

A provider can offer one or both. Pre-booking has a minimum notice and a maximum window, so a time that is too soon is handled as an on-demand ride, and you can only book up to a set number of days ahead.

Choose start and destination

Set your start and destination by entering an address and picking a suggestion, or by placing them on the map. You can swap the two with the reverse-direction control. Where the provider uses fixed stations, you search for a station by name or pick one from the map, instead of setting a free door-to-door point.

Set passengers and options

Before you search, adjust the trip:

  • set the number of passengers and their types, such as adults or children,
  • add any ride options the provider offers, and
  • add a note for the driver, where the provider allows it.

The passenger types and options that appear depend on the provider’s configuration.

Review and pick an offer

After you search, the site looks for available rides and shows the result. Where the provider enables it, you can pick from several offers, each showing its estimated times, any walking time, and the fare. Choosing an offer opens the confirmation, where you review the details and, if needed, choose a payment method. See Pay for a ride.

After you confirm, the site shows the booking together with a short booking code. Have the code ready at pickup so the driver can identify you.

Book several rides at once

Where the provider enables it, you can create a recurring booking to book the same trip for several dates in one flow. The site then shows the status of each ride in the series, so you can see which dates were booked.
