Data collection and sign-in
These settings decide how a passenger signs in and which contact details the site asks for.
Choose the sign-in method
Signup auth strategy, in Basic Setup, sets how passengers create an account and sign in:
phone_number—sign in with a phone number, verified by a code sent over SMS.email—sign in with an email address and password.phone_number_or_email—offer both methods.
Decide what data to collect
Under Data Collection, choose how the site treats each contact detail. Both Collects email and Collects phone use the same options:
mandatory—the passenger must provide it.optional—the passenger can provide it but does not have to.none—the site does not ask for it.
Explain a newly required detail
If you make email or phone collection stricter for an existing provider, passengers who signed up earlier may now need to add the missing detail. For each language, you can enter the message shown when a passenger is asked to provide an email address or a phone number because of this change. Keep the two messages—one for email, one for phone—clear about why the detail is now needed.
