Create a provider

A provider is one branded ioki Web Booking website. You create it in the control panel, then fill in the rest of its configuration.

Create a provider

Permissions: manage_providers (a Super Admin)

Creating and deleting providers is restricted to a Super Admin with the manage_providers permission. Editing an existing provider—the branding, languages, and other settings on the pages that follow—requires the update_provider permission for that provider.

From the provider list, start a new provider and complete the Basic Setup fields:

  • Subdomain. The provider-specific part of the web address, for example example. It must be unique within the chosen domain.
  • Domain. The shared domain the site runs on, such as ride-booking.com or fahrt-buchen.de. You pick it from the list of allowed domains.
  • Email from address. The reply-from address used for emails the site sends to passengers. You choose it from a preset list.
  • Signup auth strategy. How passengers sign in. See Data collection and sign-in.

The subdomain and domain together form the live address, subdomain.domain.

Change the subdomain or domain

After a provider exists, its Subdomain and Domain fields become read-only in the main form. Each has a separate action—Change subdomain and Change domain—because changing either alters the site’s live address. Treat these as sensitive changes: any link or bookmark that used the old address stops working.
