Manage rides

While working on a ride task, ioki Vehicle App can expose additional ride actions. Which actions are shown depends on the task state and the product configuration.

Use ride actions on an active task

The action bar for an active task can include actions for:

  • calling a passenger
  • reading a passenger note for the driver
  • changing the ride’s payment method
  • updating passenger information
  • canceling the ride
  • reporting a passenger complaint

Not every task shows every action.

Update passengers

Passenger editing is possible only after you accept the ride and before the pickup is completed, if the product lets drivers change passengers and the ride has no purchased ticket. The vehicle must also have enough capacity for any passengers you add.

If passenger editing is allowed, the app opens a separate ride-update screen.

In that screen, the driver can:

  • add passengers
  • edit existing passengers
  • remove passengers

The app updates the working passenger list first, refreshes the fare preview in the background, and then lets the driver confirm or cancel the final ride update.

Change the payment method

If the product offers multiple payment methods and the current task allows it, the task action bar can show a payment-method action. You can change the payment method only after you accept the ride and before the pickup is completed, and only if the product lets drivers change it.

The driver can change the payment method directly from the active task action bar. If the ride-update screen is available for the same task, the driver can also confirm the selected payment method there.

Call passengers and read passenger notes

If a ride allows passenger contact, the task action bar can show a call action. After the call action succeeds, the app shows a confirmation message.

If the ride contains a passenger note for the driver, the same task area can show a separate note action.

Cancel rides

If ride cancellation is available for the task, the app opens a cancellation flow from the task action bar.

When a driver tries to cancel too early, the app first shows a confirmation dialog. For ride tasks, the next step asks the driver to choose a cancellation reason before submitting the cancellation. For non-ride tasks, the app uses a simpler confirmation dialog.

See requested options and resources at a stop

Each destination task shows a row of badges so the driver can see, at a glance, what a stop needs. The row combines two kinds of badge:

  • The ride options a passenger requested for the booking, such as book for others, extra storage, or a stroller. Only ride options set to be visible to the driver appear here; an option that a passenger selected but that is hidden from the driver is not shown. Driver visibility is set per ride option in Control Center. For a ride option that carries a count, the badge also shows the number requested.
  • The resources the ride consumes in the vehicle, such as wheelchair spaces, walker spaces, and storage. Each resource badge shows its count.

If a task has no visible ride options and consumes no shown resources, the badge row is hidden. The booking time appears in the destination header, above the badges.

Work with previous ride data

Previous or inactive task entries can still contain ride-related details and actions, such as passenger contact and the requested options and resources for the stop. Complaint reporting is available from previous destinations.
