Navigation and scopes

ioki Reporting has two navigation controls: the Scopes selector in the header, which sets the organization context, and the sidebar on the left, which lists the dashboards and reports available in that scope. This page explains both and how they work together.

  1. Scopes
  2. The sidebar
  3. When no reports are available
  4. Putting it together

Scopes

A scope is the organization context whose reports you are viewing. Every dashboard and report you see belongs to the scope you have selected.

The Scopes selector sits in the app header:

  • When your account has access to more than one organization, the selector is a dropdown. Choosing an organization switches the scope, and the sidebar reloads to show the dashboards and reports for that organization.
  • When your account has access to only one organization, the header shows that organization’s name as plain text, and there is nothing to switch.

Switching the scope is usually the first thing you do after signing in, because it determines everything the sidebar and reports show.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the left lists everything you can open in the current scope. It has two areas:

  • Dashboards. Appears when the scope has one or more dashboards. Each entry opens a dashboard. See Dashboards.
  • Reports. Lists the reports available in the scope, grouped into sections. Selecting a report opens it so you can view and filter its data. See Running a report.

Reports are organized into groups. Selecting a group expands it to show the reports inside, and selecting a report opens it in the main area.

When no reports are available

If the current scope has no reports you can open, the sidebar shows a “No reports available” message in place of the report list. This happens when your account has no organization to report on, or when it has an organization but not the reporting permission. In these cases ioki Reporting shows the full-screen “No reports available” state described in Get started.

Putting it together

To find and open a report:

  1. Choose the organization you want in the Scopes selector.
  2. In the sidebar, open a dashboard from the Dashboards area for an overview, or open a report from a group under Reports.
  3. Work with the dashboard or report in the main area.
