Dashboards
A dashboard gives you an at-a-glance overview by collecting several charts on one screen. Each chart, called a widget, is built from an aggregation and can draw on a different report, so a single dashboard can bring together data from across several reports. This page explains how to open a dashboard, change its time range, and drill into a widget.
Opening a dashboard
Dashboards appear in the Dashboards area of the sidebar when the current scope has any. Select a dashboard to open it. The dashboard name appears as the heading, with a Back control next to it that returns you to the previous view.
The time range
A Time range control sits at the top of the dashboard and applies to every widget on it. Set a start date and an end date, then apply the range to reload all the widgets for that period. Changing the time range is the main way to adjust what a dashboard shows.
Widgets
Below the time range, widgets are laid out in a grid. Each widget is a chart built from an aggregation, so a widget shows the same kind of visualization you get when you open a report’s charts directly. Widgets can be arranged into named groups within the dashboard. For more about how these charts work, see Charts.
Each widget loads on its own. While a widget is still loading, ioki Reporting shows a placeholder in its place until the chart is ready.
Drilling into a widget
A widget is a summary view. To work with the underlying data in full, open the report that the widget is based on from the sidebar, where you can adjust its filters, view the complete data table, and export the data.
Empty and error states
- “No widgets available”. When a dashboard has no widgets configured yet, ioki Reporting shows the message “There are no widgets configured for this dashboard yet.”
- When a single widget has no data for the chosen time range, that widget shows a “No data available” message while the rest of the dashboard continues to display.
- When a widget or the whole dashboard cannot load, ioki Reporting shows an error message and invites you to try again later.
