Exporting data
You can export a report as a file to work with it in a spreadsheet or your own tools. This page explains the full report export. For a quick download of a single chart’s series, see Charts.
Start an export
Open a report and go to the Data tab (see Working with the data table). Select Export data to open the export panel on the side of the screen.
The panel is titled Choose your export options and notes that the export has all active filters applied and that custom table sorting is not applied to the export. In other words, your filters carry over, but the column sort order you set in the data table does not.
Choose your export options
Set the following options in the panel.
- Time range. The start and end dates for the export. The panel shows the report’s reference timestamp and lets you adjust the two dates.
- Table options. Which columns to include. Selected columns exports the columns as shown in the data table, and All available columns exports the whole report.
- Data format. CSV (UTF-8) produces a UTF-8 encoded CSV file. Excel produces an Excel file that matches the on-screen format.
- More options. A collapsible section with extra settings for the chosen format. It sets the file header: Localized column names, Technical identifiers, or No header.
To start the export, select Export data. To close the panel without exporting, select Close.
Export status
After you start an export, the panel shows its progress.
- Export in progress. The system is processing your data. A progress indicator shows how far along it is. Select Discard to stop the export; ioki Reporting asks you to confirm before it aborts.
- Export completed. The download starts on its own. If it does not, select download the file manually to get the file.
- Export failed. The export did not finish. Select Retry to run it again, or contact support if it keeps failing.
Download a chart instead
To export just one chart rather than the full report, use the Export action on the Charts tab. It downloads the chart’s current series as a CSV file with your selected measure, time range, bucket size, and filters. See Charts.
