Book a ride
An agent books a ride for a passenger from the Search ride form. Sign in and choose the provider and service area first, then work down the form.
Choose the passenger
- In Booking passenger, search by name, phone number, or email address (some providers also allow a unique customer ID), then select the passenger to book for.
- If the passenger does not exist yet, select Create user and enter their first name, last name, phone number, email address, and language. Confirm that the passenger accepts the terms of service and privacy policy, and—where the provider requires it—that they meet the minimum age.
Once a passenger is selected, a panel shows their name, ID, language, phone number, and email address. It warns when the passenger is blocked from booking because of service violations, or has outstanding payments.
Under Passengers, set the passenger type for each traveller and set any passenger options. Use Add passenger to include companions and Remove passenger to drop one; at least one passenger always remains. If a passenger needs a name for the trip, enter a first and last name.
Set the time
In Time & Date, choose Ad hoc to book for now, or Prebook to schedule the ride. For a pre-booked ride, choose Depart at or Arrive by and set the date and time within the product’s booking window.
To book the same trip on several days at once, use Serial Booking (available when the product supports ride series) and pick the dates.
A product must allow ad hoc bookings, pre-bookings, or both. If a product allows neither, ioki Booking does not open the booking form for that service area. Instead it shows a Product configured incorrectly page that names the product and explains that “neither ad hoc bookings nor prebookings are enabled.” Ask a Product Admin to enable a booking mode on the product.
Set the route
Under Route, enter the Origin and Destination. As you type, suggestions are grouped into Recently used, Search results, and Fixed stations. You can also set a point by clicking the map while a location field is empty, or from a station’s map popup with Set as origin or Set as destination.
- On products that require fixed stations, each field offers a Show only fixed stations option.
- A matching toggle switches between Nearby and Exact; it is forced to Exact while you filter to fixed stations.
- The swap button reverses the origin and destination.
Show or hide stations on the map
When a product has stations, the map shows them as markers and a control in the lower-left corner lets you choose which stations to display. Stations are shown by default. Select a marker to open its popup and set it as the origin or destination.
Markers are colored by station type:
- Physical stations are blue.
- Virtual stations are orange.
The control adapts to the station types the product uses:
- Physical. Show or hide physical stations.
- Virtual. Show or hide virtual stations.
- Stations. A single toggle shown in place of the two type toggles when the product has only one station type.
Your choice is saved to your account and applied the next time you open the map.
Add ride options and a note
Under Ride Options, set any ride options the product offers. Where the product allows it, add a Note to driver.
Search and book
- Select Search ride. ioki Booking looks for possible rides and lists the offered solutions.
- Each solution shows the departure and arrival times, the duration, any transfers and walking time, the pickup and dropoff, and the fare. Expand a solution to see the full itinerary.
- If the product requires it, choose a Payment method.
- Select Book. A Remaining time countdown shows how long the offer is held.
After booking, the ride waits for the driver to confirm, then shows that it was booked successfully together with a verification code the passenger presents to the driver at the start of the ride.
Return, reverse, and recurring trips
- Return ride. From a booked ride, start a new ride with the origin and destination swapped.
- Serial Booking. Book the same trip across several dates in one step; each date reports whether it was booked.
- Reverse a trip before searching by swapping the origin and destination with the swap button.
